Friday's Drawers - A picture is worth a thousand words because I don't have them in me today

potatoes, dandelion greens, navel oranges, apples, green beans,
radishes, tomatoes, beets, purple turnips, basil, zucchini & yellow squash

I got nothin.

To say. I have nothing to say I mean. Shocker.

I did get some fresh produce.

Anyone have any ideas on those two gigundous radishes?

ARe those radishes? or turnips? I am not a huge turnip fan but have been REALLY enjoying our farm share turnips boiled and mashed with potatoes (and celeriac if you have it)...or (again, half turnips half taters) cube, parboil then fry in olive oil with onions a la home fries. My kids love em.

We did get turnips - somewhere in the middle I think - but I think those are radishes. We got one about 2 weeks ago and I cut it, tasted it and it tasted like a radish. That is a good call with half turnip & half tater idea!

OH my. I think it IS a turnip. Thank you google image search. What happens to one if you eat a raw turnip? Does it taste like radish? Hmmmm interesting.

I have some of those things I think are turnips but taste like a radish and look like a giant radish. I sliced them thinly and ate them with dip like chips. I made beet hummus as dip. Double the purple veggie fun.

Sometimes if I have ingredients but I don't know what I want to do with them, I go to supercook.com ... you plug in your ingredients and say if you want a dinner dish, soup, or appetizer, etc and it will give you a list of recipes. Helps to try something new! I've been broiling my veggies lately (missing grilling them) with a little olive oil, sea salt and fresh lemon juice. Zucchini like that is amazing!
